We are very blessed here at the Fairlawn Church of God with a dynamic Praise and Worship Team, a fantastic Sanctuary Choir and gifted musicians; but the greatest asset that sets this church apart and makes it known for it's Music Ministry is the anointing. We know that our number one objective is to lead the congregation into His presence every time we take the platform. Once the Service begins, it's no longer about perfection or performance. It's all about lifting up our voices and instruments with one sound - praising and magnifying the Lord.
We have our weekly Choir/Musicians practice on Thursdays at 7pm. We encourage everyone that loves to sing and is looking for a vibrant Ministry, to come and check us out on Thursday nights. The Sanctuary Choir is an exciting Ministry that believes in loving Him first and each other second. We promote unity by staying involved together from our annual Choir trips to our monthly outings. We strive to maintain that family atmosphere that always says we love you and you are welcome here. Along with our Choir we also have a multitude of talented soloists, a Praise Team, many gifted musicians, a youth band and a Senior Choir.
Saying that we are blessed here at The Fairlawn Church of God really is an understatement. You would have to come and experience it for yourself to understand. So, why don't you? For more information please contact us.
My vision statement for the Music Ministry is II Chronicles Chapter 5 and verse 13. It reads as follows: "It came to pass when the trumpeters and singers were AS ONE, to make ONE SOUND to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord that the house was filled with a cloud. So that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud, for the Glory of the Lord hadfilled the house of God. " We are looking for that day to come in this Sanctuary. When we are all in one mind and in one accord we will see the Glory of the Lord fill His house. We want everyone to be able to Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. We want you to be at liberty - for where His Spirit is there is freedom.
Every year, the Fairlawn Church of God presents our annual Easter Passion Play entitled “The Glory of His Resurrection.” This passion play is a life changing Drama that depicts the life of Christ from His birth, through His death, and all the way to His glorious resurrection. It is a professional sight and sound production that will bless the heart of all those that see and hear the Gospel message through such scenes as the healing of blind Bartimaeus, the resurrection of Lazarus, the Woman with the issue of blood, the Last Supper, and many more Biblical narratives.
“The Glory of His Resurrection” is always presented on Easter Sunday weekend, Thursday – Sunday at 7 PM nightly. We have seen record crowds in years past where there was standing room only left in the Sanctuary. Admission is always free and we even have the production professionally filmed and made available to the public a few weeks after the Drama. We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to come and experience the love of God like you’ve never known before and perhaps even become a part of this wonderful ministry to the New River Valley. Everyone involved plays a vital role in making this production the success that it has been over the past 20 years. Come check out the Fairlawn Church of God and find out how you and your family can become a part of our Drama Ministry.
Celebrate Recovery is a Bible-based 12 step program which was started by John Baker. It began as a result of his concern over people living their lives within self-made prison walls of hopelessness, despair, and discouragement.
With God's help, this program will provide the healing tools of recovery from our hurts, habits, and hang-ups. As we share our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another, God's healing grace and power will manifest in our lives. We will learn how to apply these 12 steps and 8 recovery principles as taught through the Beatitudes in the book of Matthew. These Biblical principals will free us from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors and set us free from all of our bondages. These freedom will create peace, serenity, and joy and allow us to develop a stronger personal relationship with God and with others.
For more information on how to get involved with this program, please feel free to contact us.
